Lara Benevides is a Brazilian-Swedish product designer based in Antwerp. With a norm-critical approach, she explores everyday things and rituals we often take for granted. Her work - from familiar objects and edible creations to installations and events - seeks to trigger dialogues and to invite reflection on our daily actions and the true value of things.

 

For Lara, the conversations sparked by her work are an essential and ongoing part of each project. The objects that she creates are not intended for mass production but serve to provoke thoughts and discussions - particularly over their environmental footprint and the resources involved in their creation.
