Solar Energy Dinner
The Solar Energy Dinner was a conceptual food event for a mingle party that kicked off a new research project by RISE Interactive Eskilstuna. The project, known as Future Alley - Sustainable Lifestyles, focused on a renovated apartment building that had been equipped with smart grid technology and micro generation of solar power, making it an ideal case study.
The aesthetics of the table's surface and the event invitation drew inspiration from the solar panel. As the project revolves around sustainable futures, the menu was carefully crafted in collaboration with chef Sonia Benevides and mostly featured seasonal ingredients.

A solar energy quiz was attached to the bottom of each glass. This element was intended to spark curiosity about the subject, share interesting facts, and encourage conversations about solar energy among the tenants.
The tenants were invited to a social evening where the research project was presented, offering them an opportunity to meet their neighbors and the researchers involved.
This interactive and playful invitation used the concept of solar energy to make the research subject more accessible and to challenge the notion that research is rigid or intimidating. It features a power cord and plug emerging from a sun illustration, which not only served as a functional element to close the envelope but also creatively depicted the concept of solar energy.
The building in the illustration is a picture of the actual building being studied in the project, creating a direct connection between the invitation and the research.
