Vetefiskar

Vetefiskar ("Wheat Fish" in Swedish) are wheat filled fish-shaped pillows that can be used as hot packs on the body for comfort or pain relief. They were hand made through linocut technique, so each pillow is unique. The pillows can be heated in the microwave or oven, and play with the idea of the way we usually prepare fish for consumption.

The fabric prints represent fish species common in Swedish waters - sill (herring), abborre (perch), lax (salmon) and makrill (mackerel). The pillows come in 4 sizes, that are determined by each fish’s actual size.

The pillows were sold at Konstfack’s Christmas Market. To enhance the concept, the table was built to look like a fish counter. The visitors could choose their own fish, which were then wrapped like a fresh fish from the store. The product usage instructions were provided on the label.
